About Metal Roofing

Metal is the fastest-growing roofing category on the Space Coast, and it's easy to see why: a properly installed standing-seam metal roof can last 40–70 years, shrugs off salt air, carries the highest wind ratings in the industry, and reflects radiant heat to noticeably cut summer cooling costs.

We install two main metal systems. Standing-seam is the premium choice — concealed fasteners, raised vertical seams, a clean modern look, and no exposed screws to fail over time. Exposed-fastener (5V crimp or ribbed) panels are a lower-cost option still common on coastal cottages, barns, and ranch-style homes; they perform well but require periodic screw inspections.

For ocean-front and intracoastal homes from Cape Canaveral down through Vero Beach, we recommend aluminum or Galvalume substrates with Kynar 500 paint finishes. These resist the salt corrosion that destroys cheaper galvanized steel within a decade of coastal exposure.

Insurance carriers love metal in Florida. Many offer wind-mitigation credits when you upgrade from shingle to metal, which can offset part of the higher upfront cost over the life of the roof.

Metal Roofing Roofing — FAQ

How long does a metal roof last in Florida?+

A quality standing-seam metal roof with the right coastal-grade substrate typically lasts 40–70 years on the Space Coast — two to three times the life of an asphalt shingle roof.

Will a metal roof make my house hotter?+

Just the opposite. Reflective metal coatings bounce radiant heat away from the attic. Most homeowners see a measurable drop in summer cooling costs after switching from shingle to metal.

Is metal good for hurricanes?+

Metal is one of the best hurricane materials available. Standing-seam panels with concealed clips routinely test to 150+ mph and rarely fail at the panel itself — failures almost always trace back to incorrect flashing or fastening.

How much does a metal roof cost in Brevard County?+

Most residential metal roofs in Brevard and Indian River County run $15,000–$35,000 depending on size, profile, and substrate. Call (321) 550-2272 for a free estimate.

Do I get an insurance discount for a metal roof?+

Often yes. Most Florida carriers offer wind-mitigation credits for metal roofs that meet current code. We provide the documentation your insurance carrier needs.
